FAQs

Everything you need to know about your Digital Mini Vinyl

Your Digital Mini Vinyl is a Smart Format

Smart Formats were invented by our partner, Serenade. They are collectible physical items that can unlock chart eligible music and bonus content with a simple tap of the phone.

These items are designed to give fans an integrated physical-digital experience.

How do they Work?

They use NFC technology – little chips embedded in every Smart Format. Just tap your phone against a format and hey presto, you’re on your way to your music and digital content.

Every phone has an NFC reader that can link to our Smart formats – for example, tapping your phone to pay at a shop, that’s the NFC reader in your phone working. The same when you tap to pay at train barriers – it’s the same easy-to-use tech.

Why are they great for me as a fan?

Smart Formats include the following that each individually, and collectively, bring fans joy.

  • An exclusive physical music format

  • Exclusive access to unlockable bonus content

  • Ability to stream and download music from your favourite artists

  • Increased connection to the artists you love

Claiming

If you’ve recently purchased a Digital Mini Vinyl, you may be wondering how to claim and enjoy all the music and extra content that comes with it.

Tap to Claim:

Either on the packaging or on the item itself, locate the ‘Tap to Claim’ icon. Once you’ve found it, tap your phone directly on it like you’re tapping a card reader.

Generally your phone’s reader should pick up the chip as you tap over the Smart Format, but if that’s not working check your phone brand for where the reader is located.

Ensure NFC is Enabled on Your Device

NFC reading is an option on all modern smartphones. If you’re tapping your phone and nothing is happening then it’s possible that NFC reading is disabled on your device. Check to ensure that it has been enabled through the settings menu.

  • For Android: Go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > NFC and enable it.

  • For iPhones: NFC is automatically enabled, but certain apps might require you to enable NFC scanning in the Control Center.

Login & Claim:

Once you’ve tapped your item, you will be redirected to a page displaying the artwork for the album or EP where you can tap to claim your Digital Mini Vinyl.

Depending on the release, you will have immediate access to the content after tapping or you’ll be asked to sign-in/create an account to access. If it’s the second option and you’re not logged in or signed-up to a Serenade account already, you will be prompted to input a few small details or sign up with an email account, after which an account will be created for you that will store your exclusive digital album and content.

Accessing your Digital Content

You can use the device you originally tapped to view the content by tapping the product again, or once you have claimed your Smart Format, it will be sitting there in your profile ready for all of the awesome content to be streamed or downloaded to your heart’s content!

If you can’t access your content immediately after claiming, wait for a few minutes and it should appear and be accessible in your profile. If it still hasn’t, contact Serenade via support@serenade.co and a team member will attend to your issue

If you’ve not received your verification email…

  1. Check your spam/junk folder to ensure that it’s not in there hiding from you

  2. If it’s still nowhere to be seen, email the customer service team via support@serenade.co with the following details:

    1. The email address that you used to sign up

    2. Your username

I’m stuck in a verification loop

If you’ve clicked the ‘Verify’ button but you keep getting taken back to the same page for verification there are a few solutions:

  • Click the profile icon in the top right (or Serenade icon in the top middle)

  • If it persists, log out and log back in again (this should solve most problems)

  • If it persists beyond that, close and quit your browser, then log back in (bonus points for using an incognito or private window)

  • Alternatively, use a different device (ie. go from your phone to a computer) log in again and it should be sorted

If the above solutions don’t work, send an email to support@serenade.co

The easiest way to listen to your Digital Mini Vinyl is by tapping it on your device and clicking play. However, if you wish to download the album to be used on different devices, you can follow the steps below.

To download these files;
  1. Navigate to your profile
  2. Scroll down to find the relevant release in your ‘Collection’
  3. Select the release that you want to access
  4. Navigate to the ‘Tracks’ section on your edition page
  5. Click the ‘Download Audio’ button.
NB: We strongly advise that you download the audio files using a computer rather than your phone due to large file sizes, ease of access and integration with whichever application you use to stream digital music

Once you’ve clicked the ‘Download Audio’ button, navigate to the bottom left of your page or alternatively the downloads folder on your computer

Click on the dowloaded zip file for a folder to be created with the track-delineated audio files

Drag this folder into the Library on the pre-installed ‘Music’ application on your Mac or the iTunes application on your PC (you will need to manually download this). Alternatively you can add to a library via choosing File > Add File to Library
  1. Depending on the file size and the Wi-Fi, it may take a minute for the audio files to appear
  2. You should now be able to enjoy your music offline

Troubleshooting

“I can’t find the audio once I’ve added it to iTunes”

Sometimes artists will choose to upload WAV files, which are much higher audio quality but can often lack some of the metadata required to sync perfectly with your music application

If you’re having trouble finding the tracks after transferring them to the application (ie. iTunes), look in your ‘Recently Added’ playlist.

Here’s a useful thread talking about some solutions to the issue: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7431228

NB: If a name is not showing on iTunes for the artist/ title name, it can be added manually by;
  1. Highlighting all the songs and right-clicking for “Get Info”
  2. You will get the following dialogue box;
    • “Are you sure you want to edit this for multiple songs?”
  3. Click “Yes” or “Edit Items”
  4. The next screen will show a number of information fields that can be filled out to plug the gaps in metadata of the raw files
    • We suggest adding the artist and album title at least to ensure it all syncs up nicely with your existing library

“I can’t find the file once I clicked download”

Although it may not be ideal in certain circumstances, as previously mentioned we suggest to try downloading on the computer if you haven’t already.

Some phones may struggle to uncompress a Zip file or deal with the large file sizes. In other cases, your phone may store files such as these in obscure locations that you’re not familiar with.

If you have downloaded on your phone and you can’t find them, we suggest that you look up your device manufacturers user manual (or simply Google) where these files are stored. Once located, you can share these files with your computer directly from your phone by any number of methods such as;
  • AirDrop
  • Email
  • Text Message

Of course, if you experience any problems, please feel free to contact the Serenade support team and they will do their best to help!
The full 12 track Make A Wish Come True album will be available from 05/06/2026.

If you purchase your Digital Mini Vinyl before this date, you will gain exclusive access to the Make A Wish Come True single and music video, released on 01/12/2025.

If you’ve successfully claimed your Digital Mini Vinyl, you will be notified when the album goes live via email.

Note, each Digital Mini Vinyl can be registered to one device only.

If you are receiving the message that your Digital Pressing has already been claimed, we advise to take the following steps:

  1. Double check your account to see if the release is already under your profile – this will be the case the majority of the time

  2. Try claiming with another device to see if this changes the outcome

  3. Contact Serenade support via email at support@serenade.co
